7 reasons you glutes arnt growing!

If you have any of the symptoms below its a sign your body is compensating and not using your glutes.

1. Chronic lower back tightness or pain
When your glutes arn’t engaged, your lower back muscles take over hip tension, then eventually your back starts to fatigue and feel sore.

2. Hamstrings dominate
Do your hamstrings cramp? Do you feel your hamstrings end up over compensating?, driving the hip extension and knee flexion- this is why you feel tight in the hamstrings

3. Unstable hips
Your glute muscles are failing to stabilise the pelvis. You can notice your hip pulls to one side during a movement or you feel a shift during a certain movement.
You lose tension at the bottom of a squat or can have trouble balancing on one leg.

4. Weak Adductors
Adductors stabilize the pelvis and produce hip extension, when they are weak they can contribute and cause the knees to collapse inwards. They are also linked to your glutes and core.

5. Knee pain
When your glutes aren’t on, your knee caves inward during squats, lunges etc. Irritating the joint and tissue. The glutes help control hip and knee alignment.

6. Glutes not growing or changing
If your glutes arnt shaping or growing, are you using them? If you can’t feel them in your glute sessions then you’re training something else.

7. Check your core stability
If your core isn’t providing enough stability, your lower back may arch more in movements, you can shift during movements and struggle to maintain neutral pelvis. This will stop your glutes from firing properly
